Well there is hardly time to breath between the KTA events as we move on from the kicking tour stop in Vietnam to round four on the party island of Boracay in the Philippines.
Boracay and in particular its Bulabog beach area have over the past few years been one of the locations in Asia that have driven the sport of kiteboarding forward. Long renowned as a watersports paradise that was famous for its diving and windsurfing, Boracay fully embraced the new kid on the block and kiteboard has now become one of the key activities there.
So as one of Asia’s top kiting spots along with a crew that know how to have a good time for sure Boracay just had to be on the KTA’s tour hit list and accordingly the tour lands there from the 24th – 27th February 2010.
The KTA Philippines is being hosted by our local organisers on the island the Hangin Kiteboard Center and they are promising a full menu of events not only on but off the water to. So as well as your harness pack your party socks for not only the normal opening and awards bashes, but also for the kiteboarder fashion show night and carnival dancers in Summer Place, along with the final party at Hey Judes, at which we are promised something even more special that we won’t forget in a hurry!
On the water it will be just as fast and furious for the competitions with the wind and conditions we can expect this time of year on the island. Plus a big thank you to the Boracay Funboard Cup crew who have kindly left the race and judging towers in place from their event for the KTA – nice one guys.
So everything is set and with the great ongoing support from our tour sponsors the Evason, Cabrinha, Maelstorm, SueMe and Kitezone, who will be supported further by local event sponsors, Ion, Ozone, North and Mandala Spa. So there promises to be another great prize package for all you riders and not forgetting of course those world ranking points from the IKA as well - worth chucking a kite up for hey.
We are expecting another big turn out for this round of the KTA, so riders get yourselves registered in plenty of time and spectators get there early to pick out that top viewing spot for four days of top kiteboarding competition. For those riders coming early, we are planning to do a video of the KTA riders for a bonus on the tour DVD, we will be taking a trip to SECO Island with some KTA riders and Frenchie will be coming along with the camera, see below the video from Frederic and the Philippine crew ripping it in awesome conditions
