Under the IKA sanction agreement the KTA will operate its events under the unified competition rules. This is now the rule format that all kiteboarding competitions will be run under throughout the world, whether this is at a national level or at world level competitions like the KPWT and PKRA events.
Freestyle – A rider against rider format up to usually a maximum of four riders within any competition heat. Tricks are performed within a specified, marked competition area, with the rider’s performances being assessed by a team of judges. This is an open format of competition with no restriction on the types of tricks and moves that maybe attempted.
Course Racing – Riders race against each other as a group around a pre-set course area. The course is designed to test the rider’s skill and speed in all directions to the wind – up, cross and downwind.
