Please do not book your flights until you have had your Invitation letter, hotel confirmation and event licence documentation………all KTA Regular riders are getting first preference for the competition, registrations are coming very fast with over 50 in 2 days already registered, there is also a 40 slot allocation to the local Chinese riders leaving only 80 spots for Foreign riders

IF YOU REGISTER YOU MUST COMPETE - NON COMPETING REGISTRANTS WILL BE CLASSED AS SOCIAL ENTRY AND PAY THE DAILY RATE FOR THEIR ROOMS

we are offering free accomodation & board for registered riders, we will also provide airport transfer to and from the airport.

After registration is complete you will receive an email with all the travel and visa info that is also mentioned on this page in the visa section.

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 120 RIDERS ONLY – KTA REGULAR RIDERS AND SEEDED RIDERS WILL GET FIRST PREFERENCE OVER 1 TIME VISITORS

If you are travelling with your partner and need a separate room, you will pay 50 USD per night for the hotel, your partner can also then attend all functions of the event also inclusive of the room rate.

2013 marks the 4th year and visit for the KTA to Boracay, we are extremely excited once again to be bringing Asia's finest Kitesurfing competitions to the most beautiful island of the Philippines. This years event will follow suit of the previous years boasting freestyle, TT Racing and Race board racing and attracting some of not only the Top Asian riders but some of the top riders in the World, with extensive growth each year of the KTA event in Boracay this is gonna be a whopper event for all!

We are once again being supported this year in a hosting role the fine development Aqua Boracay by Yoo, here is some info on them.

4th KTA Philippines – Boracay Island 2013

Boracay is one of the most establish kite locations in Asia with an already well established world reputation for top class wind and kiting conditions. As one of the Philippines top island holiday destinations, Boracay also offers lots of options on places to stay, eat, drink, party and try your hand at other watersports when you are not competing.

The competition will be located once again in front ofÊAqua Design by Yoo on the Bulabog beach side of the island where all the kite action takes place during the winter monsoon months. The kiting here takes place inside a large reef protected bay that means for the most part flat or more or less flat water in all but the strongest of winds, which can be pretty strong during January, so expect those maxed out days on the water.

Bulabog beach itself is not so wide, but more than enough for set-up and launching needs, plus it is shallow for a good way on the inside giving you plenty of safety margin to work with.

Visa Information

There are two Airports close to Boracay, Caticlan and Kalibo. You will always have to take a short Boat ride from Caticlan Jetty Port to Boracay.

Caticlan Airport (MPH)

Caticlan Airport is a smaller airport 5 minutes from Boracay. There are domestic flights from Manila and Cebu. A motorized trike will take you to the Jetty Port, less than five minutes away. This is definitely the preferred airport for ease and convenience. Due to the small size of the runway, smaller turboprop airplanes are used.

Kalibo Airport (KLO)

Kalibo Airport is a larger airport 90 minutes from Boracay. This airport that has some international flights, and accommodates larger jet airplanes. An air-conditioned van and bus service will take you from Kalibo Airport to Caticlan. We can arrange the pickup from the airport for you.

We have now the first not black listed airline serving the Clark - Kalibo route at the most competitive price.

Air Asia

There are several ferries from Manila to Boracay. One way takes approximately 12 hours. It is not that comfortable but cheap. One way will cost approximately PHP 900 to PHP 2500 depending on the class you take.

The Strong Nautical Highway is a both an overland route and a series of Roll-on/Roll-off ferries. The trip is 16-20 hours with stopovers and dependent on sea conditions. It's locally known as the RORO Boracay route. (A/C bus 1500 PhP)

The winds during January in Boracay come from the northeast, with wind speeds between 25 - 30 kts. This will give a left to right cross onshore for the competition beach.
