Please do not book your flights until you have had your Invitation letter, hotel confirmation and event licence documentation………all KTA Regular riders are getting first preference for the competition, registrations are coming very fast with over 50 in 2 days already registered, there is also a 40 slot allocation to the local Chinese riders leaving only 80 spots for Foreign riders

IF YOU REGISTER YOU MUST COMPETE - NON COMPETING REGISTRANTS WILL BE CLASSED AS SOCIAL ENTRY AND PAY THE DAILY RATE FOR THEIR ROOMS

we are offering free accomodation & board for registered riders, we will also provide airport transfer to and from the airport.

After registration is complete you will receive an email with all the travel and visa info that is also mentioned on this page in the visa section.

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 120 RIDERS ONLY – KTA REGULAR RIDERS AND SEEDED RIDERS WILL GET FIRST PREFERENCE OVER 1 TIME VISITORS

If you are travelling with your partner and need a separate room, you will pay 50 USD per night for the hotel, your partner can also then attend all functions of the event also inclusive of the room rate.

For the first time ever Bintan Island in Indonesia will host the opening leg of the Asian Championship Tour - KTA 2013 in association with Bintan regency and Agro beach Resort. Situated less than an hour away via comfortable catamarans from the modern and culturally vibrant city of Singapore, Bintan Resorts is located on the largest of Indonesia's enchanting Riau islands in the South China Sea. Experience endless beaches, a wide variety of international-class resorts, and a refreshing host of tropical holiday activities. Bintan hosts many International events per year including 2 iron man competitions and the Tour De Bintan so they are well equipped and experienced in handling more than its fair share of international athletes each year.

The KTA Indonesia, US$ 15,000 of prizes shared between Freestyle, Raceboard and TT classes.

Prize placings 1st to 3rd - male and female.

The KTA Asian Kiteboard Championship Tour is fully IKA and ISAF sanctioned and as such carries the following World ranking points:

- ISAF Course Racing 50 Point World Ranking Event

- IKA Freestyle 200 Point Word Ranking Event

VISA INFORMATION +

International participants are advised to travel to Bintan via Singapore. Indonesia residents can fly directly from Jakarta to Bintan.

TRAVELLING FROM SINGAPORE: Bintan is accessible via a 50-minute ride on a high speed ferry catamaran from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal is conveniently situated close to Changi International Airport (about 10min by taxi). You can book your ferry online at the following website www.brf.com.sg.

If you plan to connect your flight arriving in Singapore with your ferry for Bintan we recommend you allow at least 3 hours connecting time.

You are advised to book a large taxi at the limousine counter at the arrival hall of changi airport to get to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal with kite gear. This service is available 24 hours, and costs a flat rate of SGD60. Regular taxis (at the taxi stand) are a lot cheaper, but may not be able to fit your equipment.

It is also advisable to arrange your return transfer from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Changi Airport at the same limousine counter.

TRANSFER TO AND FROM FERRY TO EVENT: A free shuttle transfer to and from the event site will be available for all competitors, you must send your ferry arrival details to the local organiser to ensure you have a seat on the bus , YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR ARRIVAL TIMES AND BOOK ACCOMODATION HERE

PASSPORT VALIDITY & VISAS: International passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Bintan, Indonesia.

A Visa-On-Arrival (VOA) for Indonesia is required for some nationalities. Please ensure that you have one full page available for the Indonesian Immigration Visa.

Example 1: Ferry departure time from Singapore is 8am - travel time is 55 minutes - ferry arrival time in Bintan is 7.55am.

Example 2: Ferry departure time from Bintan is 4.30pm - travel time is 55 minutes - ferry arrival time in Singapore is 6.25pm.

WATER TYPE: Very flat water, no waves, little current makes it one of the best places in the world to learn kite boarding and for practicing free style tricks. Some small rocks in the water that you should look out for. Very clean water too as there is no commercial shipping in the area. the bay is very tidal sensitive, for the racing it will be held outside of the bay, a required walk to the waters edge is required......we recommend to bring along some booties.

RECOMMENDED KITE SIZES: Rig big! go for 10meter up to 15meter.....nothing less!

There is 2 options within agro beach Resort for Accomodation, Please note this is a closed resort and there are no other accomodation options around the surrounding areas, Agro Beach resort is one of the few resorts on this side of the island therefore booking anything close to the ferry will give you a 1hour transfer each day to the event, please also note the transfer service from the Bintan ferry is for Agro Beach Resort guests only.
