For those of you that know Hong Kong or indeed live there, you will appreciate the consideration the KTA and local organiser needs to go to, to get just the right beach for a great event at the HK tour stop. Accordingly applications have been made to use beaches at Stanely, Shek O and Cheung Chau island to back-up the Lantau kiting spot and give the organisers the best choice options at the time of the event for the prevailing wind direction and strengths that appear. So Hong Kong could well be the tour stop that gives you a tour within a tour so to speak.

Don’t worry though if you are thinking of competing in Hong Kong about how to reach these places, because the organisers will be laying on coach transport for the competitors to make sure you appear at the right venue at the right time.

To support the HK tour stop and to represent all the kiteboarding groups in Hong Kong the KTA and its local organiser are forming a competition committee to meet at the end of this month. All interested local Hong Kong kiteboarders, shops and groups are invited to attend so if you would like to help and be part of the KTA tour stop in Hong Kong please contact us through our online form

Also this week see’s one of Hong Kong largest newspapers, the South Morning China post as well as other local media getting behind the KTA tour and publishing build up stories about the forth coming event.
