The KTA is returning to Pranburi and Pak Nam Pran beach for its third visit and fingers crossed it will be every bit as successful as before as the wind and conditions have been spot on for some great competition over the past two seasons.

This time we are also very excited to announce that Pranburi will also play host to the first ever Asian Course Race Championship. This event will bring Asia into line with the IKA and ISAF requirements for race championships to be decided through championship events rather than over a tour period. So Pranburi will now see the crowning of the 11/12 session Asian Course Racing Champions from the Asian riders in both the race board and twin-tip classes, with Championship event titles also being up and open to any nationality - so lots to compete for in Pranburi this season.

LOCATION

Pranburi since the first KTA visit in 2010 established itself as one of the key kiting locations in Thailand and the two previous seasons have provided great conditions the strongest winds in the country at the right time of year, so we are on our way back for another fix in the land of smiles.

Pranburi is a classic Thai beach location, long stretches of white sand and clear blue water that gives mostly flat water conditions with some swell and chop as the winds pick up. On the inside the water is shallow with a steady slope towards deeper water.

The course racing in Pranburi was perhaps the best of last year’s tour which is why we are confident that this is the right location for us to bring the first Asian Course Race Championships for 2012.

Pranburi is a small more local Thai tourist type location and although it does boast 5 and 6 star resort accommodations, mostly it offers boutique style hotels and bungalow accommodation. On the whole Pranburi is a mellow laid back spot with a quite nightlife of local bars and eating places, with the more full on action to be found half an hour away in the city of Hua Hin.

For budget travelling you can get the sky train from the airport to Victory Monument BTS, from there get the minivan to Pranburi, it should cost 180 THB one way.  The bus will drop you at either Teso Lotus in Pranburi or the main junction crossroads, i find the crossroads to be the better place to be dropped of as many small taxi guys hang around there. You must get a taxi to our place, just mention Kitezone Pak Nam pran and they should take you here, you can also call us for info, this trip takes about 6 hours total.
