CRX Chapter Race – Mui Ne

CRX – its one of the hot topics of the moment in the kite race world.

Styled as a one design covertable feeder race class, CRX has ruffled feathers in taking a new approach to the kiting world as it aims to provide a pathway into the world of kite racing both for the twin-tip and foilboard racers. Its stated objectives are to support the performance race classes as they head towards Olympic status, at both youth and full Games levels through a combination of events, training developments and a grassroots movement of clubs that will be know as CRX Chapters.

The first of these Chapters hit the ground running, so to speak, at the C2Sky Kite Centre in Mui Ne Vietnam recently and what great result this first race day achieved. Both Foilboard and TT Boarder X racing was in action, showing off the skills of the local riders who until a month ago had not had been able to afford Foilboards or had access to equipment able to try out Boarder X.

C2Sky had grasped the Chapter concept fully and made the equipment and training availble free of charge to its Chapter members. And as the turn-out on race day showed this approach fully paid off witha  top day of racing action, friendly competiton and lots of happy faces all round.

C2Sky now plans to make the Chapter races a monthly affair, so if you want be part of the next one or just find out more check in on their FB page for the info  – https://www.facebook.com/C2Sky.KiteCenter/?fref=ts
