Thailand Kite & Windsurf Championship

The 12-13 march saw Pranburi come alive as over 100 windsurfers and kitebaorders joined forces for the Surf Spot sponsored Thailand Kite and Windsurf Championships.

As always Thailand’s Asian and KTA Champion Yo Narapichit Pudla was topping the podium, so we will leave to Yo to tell you all about it.

The ever first kitesurfing and windsurfing downwinder competition (22km) from Pranburi to Hua Hin was celebrated in Thailand on 12-13 March 2016. More than 150 riders were registrated. It was such a colorful and extremely fun event along the coast of Thailand.

On 12 March 16 we did charged downwind with 20+ knots wind and sunshine all day long, making it exciting for both spectators and riders. I used my 13m Ozone Edge V8 go fast and deep downwind. I had a bad start as I confused the start timing but then I went full speed – and 2 minute later was the leader of the pack until the end of the race and arrived first at the Surfspot Hua Hin. We had some beers waiting for all the rider that finished the marathon.

The next day we continued with a Freestyle Open with many good European riders like Marek (Poland) and Dylan (Holland), two very strong young freestylers joining the event. The wind was good, 20-25 knots all day, and low tide with some lagoons and kickers. I was tired from the downwind race but still motivated to ride and gave my best in every heat using 10m and 7m Ozone Edge V8 with my LOM board 138cm. I manage to win against Marek and Dylan and went to final with my Thai bro Bobby. With my power and style and also my signature trick called “STAR Wars” I made it to the top and won Freestyle contest, too.
