LOCATION


Xiamen is fast developing as one of China’s key kiteboarding locations, with a strong local kiteboarding
scene emerging. As you can see pictured above the location has large wide sandy beaches, with very few
fixed obstacles or hidden nasties under the water.

The gentle sloping beach gives a flat-ish water to ride, without much in the way of shore break when the
winds get stronger.

The competition beach area sits between the airport and Xiamen, so not too far from anything. It is also
a developing area for international tourism and leisure, with a large new marina complex, new hotels,
restraints and other facilities to close by.


WIND - WEATHER - WATER 

The winds during October in Xiamen come from the northeast monsoon. Wind speed averaging around
20kts for October, cross onshore for the competition beach location.

Temperatures for October range from 20 – 28 degrees Celsius, with a low percentage of rain fall if any.
The water temperature will be in the range of 20-22 degrees Celsius.




TRAVEL - ACCOMODATION

Xiamen International Airport is the closest airport to the event site, with an average transfer time by taxi or
bus of around 30 mins.

Do not forget to check if you need a visa for China or not. If you do these must be arranged in advance of your arrival, you cannot get them at the boarder.

Xiamen has a variety of hotel and other accomodation options. The local organiser is negociating some
