LOCATION

MUI NE, VIETNAM

Mui Ne is known for its hard core kiting conditions, a combination of strong winds and short break that is loved by riders wanting to take on the challenge. So a great location for the KTA to be calling in at and you can expect some fast and furious competition here.

The competition spot at Mui Ne is planned for the beach point at the Sunny Beach Resort where the C2Sky school is located. This is one of the wider parts of the beach, which as you can see in the picture above is clear sand sloping down to the shoreline.

The seabed drops sharply as you enter the water, so Mui Ne is a deep water location all the way, with a combination of frontal and thermal winds throughout the day.

WIND - WEATHER - WATER

The winds during January tend to begin throughout the morning in the range of 15-20kts, then building further in the afternoon with the thermal up towards 25-30kts. The wind direction is a left to right cross onshore at this time of year.

Temperatures for January will reach around 30 Celsius, with occasional short lived rain showers.

The water temperature will be around the 28 degrees Celsius mark.

TRAVEL - VISA APPLICATION

The KTA’s local organiser partner in Vietnam C2Sky have offered to help with sorting out any riders visa for Vietnam for the KTA competition. For Vietnam just about everyone needs to have a visa before you arrive in the country or a visa application letter to pick your visa up on arrival.

The visa application letter is what C2Sky will help you with. Without one or the other you will not get into the country. If you arrange your visa application letter through C2Sky, then it will be emailed to you before you travel, you will need to print this off to bring with you, plus the payment which is around US$25 and a passport photo.

The letter costs US$12 to obtain, Liz at C2Sky will pay this for you to get the letter for you but she will need refunding when you arrive in Vietnam – we will collect this from you when you register in for the competitions.

Final thing is you must send C2Sky the information for them to get the visa letter for you 10 days before you need it to fly to Vietnam, any later and they can’t help you. C2Sky will need the following information when you email them for the visa letter –

• Your full name as on your passport
• Full flight details
• Scan or digital photograph copy of the picture page of your passport

if you need help with your visa, transfer or accommodation Liz Kaiser - c2skykitecenter@hotmail.com Remember your other option is to do it online yourself or go to the Vietnam embassy in your country to get one.

TRAVEL - ACCOMODATION
The closest international airport to Mui Ne is the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. From here you will need to make the transfer to Mui Ne either by rail or road.

By taxi, that will cost around US$90 it will take you around 3.5 hours or 4.5 hours by rail or bus, coating around the US$45 mark.

All travellers to Vietnam will need to have a visa. This you can either do by applying through in your own country through either travel agents or the Vietnam Embassy or through one of the online sites www.visa-vietnam.org

There is a wide range of accommodation options in Mui Ne all within easy distance of the competition area. Prices start from as little as US$6 per night in guesthouse style accommodation through to 5 star hotels and resorts.Check out www.muinebeach.net
