C2Sky Freestyle Raid KTA Vietnam

After such an awesome start to the KTA Asia Championship Tour in Boracay everyone is well wired and ready for our next round in Mui Ne. This event might have a bit been touch and go without us being able to secure a major local sponsor this time around, but in the end with a massive grassroots surge of energy and support its all systems go.

As the KTA is falling in line this season with the IKA in structuring kite racing continental titles into championship events, it has offered us the opportunity to approach other events differently also and hence the C2Sky Freestyle Raid was born, which we think hits it nicely format wise playing fully to the gnarly conditions and strengths of the location.

C2SKY FREESTYLE RAID!

So a massive cheers to our Vietnam hosts and local organisers C2Sky for working with us to make this one all possible.  Thank you also to our KTA co-sponsor Cabrinha along with tour sponsors Underground, Maelstorm and Sprockett Boards for providing the continuing backbone to the tour,  giving the KTA Vietnam US$10k in prizes, but what is the C2Sky Freestyle Raid well read on………..

Primarily then the KTA Vietnam is focused on jumping which is much better suited to the location conditions than perhaps racing. So this time just pack your twin tips and get ready to challenge yourselves as there will be something for everyone to take a crack at from a full menu of freestyle disciplines.

The Asian Freestyle Championship and KTA Tour Freestyle Championships continue as normal with IKA ranking and KTA tour points up for grabs. But replacing the racing for this round of the tour we are excited to bring you the KTA Asian Old Skool Championship, which has grown out of last season’s Old Skool Project to give a focused event this year to this discipline. Perfect location we think for those big air moves from all those swell ramps and waves that Mui Ne is loved or feared for. Carrying on in this vain we are also bringing back the KTA Vietnam’s most popular discipline in which some 64 riders competed in our first visit to Mui Ne that discipline of course being Big Air - when it’s all about your time in the air rather than the moves you make.

The aim then is for freestyle action all the way for this year’s KTA Vietnam and if you’re worried about what will happen should the wind turn out to be a little light then fear not as the KTA Competition Director still has other options up his sleeve.

So next step is to click into the Vietnam location page for all the full information you need to be at the KTA Vietnam.

See you there!
